Anthony Jackson is a second generation Chicano and Indigenous reporter and photojournalist based in El Paso, Texas.
For breaking news and best breaking news-digital, Jackson and his colleagues took first place for their coverage of the shooting of a man at a protest to remove a statue of Juan de Oñate.
In November 2020, he won first place for best sports photo in the 2020 New Mexico Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.
Jackson also took second place for an online photo gallery that chronicled the home life of a COVID-19 nurse.
His photos have been published in various outlets across the U.S. as well as The Washington Post, Associated Press and The New York Times.
